Pictures of 1914 cards.

This is the card being used as the model for the 2014 card, which will look much the same, with Re-enactment replacing Inauguration and appropriate changes to the small print..

Many sources agree that only 1795 postcards were carried, but certainly more were produced. It is believed that 2500 were printed, numbered accordingly. We have found two examples in private hands that have numbers greater than 2000.

Alfred Grech has card no 2006. We have organised to print card no 2006 for the centenary mail run, but will still only carry 1785 cards!

Souvenir postcard in the Powerhouse Museum’s collection. This was carried on the Bleriot flight and shows a photographic reproduction of Guillaux.

Card 72 addressed to Washington H Soul, pharmacy chain owner

1914 (July 16-18) Melbourne to Sydney "Official Souvenir, Australia's Aerial Mail" special picture postcard flown by Maurice Guillaux, bearing 1d Kangaroo tied by the special oval "AUSTRALIAN / AERIAL MAIL / MELBOURNE / 16-JUL-1914 / VIC." datestamp with a Sydney arrival c.d.s (July 18), the card numbered "414" and unusually addressed to England. A few very minor edge faults, otherwise fine, scarce to an overseas address. AAMC 3, $750. £250-300
